Description of Issue

Just setting up my Nucleus. I’m new at this so please bear with me. It just arrived!
So far, my outboard SSD works fine as does my trial Qobuz.

My (fully paid) Tidal HiFi Plus, however, keeps displaying “upgrade your tidal “ message (I understand Roon doesn’t work with free versions.)

I can log in to Tidal from their webpage, no problem. Plays fine on other devices Sonos, smart tv, iPhone, iPad. Has been stable for a long time.
I’ve reloaded Roon app on my iPad Pro a few times, signed out of Tidal, and tried logging in several times to no avail.

Thanks for your help!

Summary:
Tidal HiFi Plus, has been fully paid for more than a year. Keep getting “upgrade tidal” message.

Hi @Vintagewood,
Thank you for your patience while we worked through the queue. Can you provide a screenshot of what you see when you try to sign into Tidal through Roon?

Hi Daniel,
I cancelled my existing Tidal account and signed up for a new one. That seemed to solve the problem.
Thanks.

Hey @Vintagewood,

I am so glad you were able to find a workaround that allowed you to use TIDAL in Roon.

I couldn’t help but notice that your Roon free trial was canceled in the meantime. Would you like it restarted?

Please, just let me know in a reply that includes @beka (so there is no delay in getting it started).

Thanks @beka
The workaround was simple: I bought a Nucleus and used the included free 1 year subscription to set up a new Roon account. The free trial wasn’t of any use as I didn’t know (at the time) that there is a hardware component required. Hence the Nucleus.

I wonder how many curious music fans hit that roadblock on the “free” trial and lose interest…
Cheers,
M

Note: Tidal was being difficult but seems fine now (?)
