This is a followup to a previous discussion, with a different ask.
After moving Roon on QNAP NAS to Container Station as recommended, the music files that were uploaded when I purchased the system in 2018 all seem to have vanished.
The QNAP is now sitting in the audio store, and the tech who handles their NAS issues said he was not able to locate any music files anywhere on the QNAP. (He asked me if I knew the format or original location or the files, and I reminded him that it was the staff at the audio store who uploaded all my CDs–I was not involved in the process!)
I’m wondering if there is anyone out in the community who could be a resource for him if he is still drawing a blank after checking with some other folks there.
Thanks. What I did (and he repeated) was to use the QNAP’s search function to look through the entire drive for any music files, regardless of format or location. The only ones I found were two factory installed sample files. Otherwise, nothing. I don’t know if he has done any additional detective work.
To clarify, the QNAP is not currently in my possession, it’s in the shop. So I’m NOT asking for suggestions on what to do. I’d just like to know if someone would be willing to communicate directly with the tech and help with troubleshooting, if he and his colleagues run out of ideas. I’m hoping it won’t be necessary!
That is for logins and not to protect from configuration errors / unintended exposure of services to the WWW. If no one is able to find specific content in aptly named folders, it usually is because there is no content (anymore). If the data is important to you, you made sure to have a backup - now would be the time to use it.
If you don’t have a backup start re-downloading and/or re-ripping your library.
