Describe the issue

Unable to unauthorize. I bought a Nucleus One and I am trying to transfer the connection from my PC (PARADIGIT) to the Nucleus One. This fails. I see both machines (This PC and Nucleus One with status ready. When I try to connect to Nucleus One I get the choices Login, Sign up and Restore a backup. Login and choosing my account will lead to the question Are you online? I can click Unauthorize but that leads to the same screen.

Describe your network setup

Windows 10 PC, Nucleus One

Try rebooting the Nucleus.

Hi Jim,

Thanks for your suggestion. Unfortunately it did not solve the issue.

Hey @Frans_Pommer,

Thanks for writing in, and sorry to hear about your issue!

How do you have your Nucleus and windows connected to your network? For now, can you please set up a direct ethernet connection from both machines directly to your router?

As another test, can you regain access to Roon on your windows (while having the Nucleus powered on and connected to your network still) and then navigate to Roon Settings> General and click the ‘X Disconnect’ option?

From there, it should take to a similar screen you see now - see if you’re able to then connect to your Nucleus and properly unauthorize your Windows machine.

We’ll be on standby for your results!

Hi Benjamin,

Both machines are connected to an unmanaged switch with a cable. That switch is directly connected to my router with a direct cable.

Moving my PC and connect it directly with the router is not practical unfortunately. It can be done but would take quite some effort.

When I open Roon on the PC it opens a screen where both servers (the PC and the Nucleus One) are shown as Ready with a green dot. The PC has Version 2.0 (build 1496) and the Nucleus One has Version 2.0 (build 1359). Bith choices have a Connect button displayed. At the bottom the link Configure Roon OS devices is shown. That will show only the Nucleus One with Version 1.0 (build 259). The web interface indicates all the statusses as OK.

Just now I selected the Connect option on the right of Nucleus One, and now it seemed to work, but only for a brief moment. It display that something was wrong, but it is now busy adding music to the library. Fingers crossed.

Hey @Frans_Pommer,

You should be able to update your Nucleus by accessing the webUI and performing an OS reinstall -

Let me know if this changes any behavior! :+1:

Hi Benjamin, it took some tinkering (setting a fixed ip-adress, port forwarding, reinstall of roon remote and arc on my smartphone) and reinstalls of the Roon Nucleus One, but everything appears to be working now. Thanks for the help, it is much appreciated.
