Using Intel NUC as Roon Core with Eversolo T8 Streamer (ref#VQGT47)

Hi! What’s not quite right with Roon?

· Hi, I am using a Intel Nuke i7 into my dac which I'm using with great success! I am controlling everything from my phone and my Android Tablet using Roon Remote. I want to upgrade to a Roon ready Eversolo T8 dedicated streamer. Can I use the Nuke as the room core and take the streaming signal out of the Nuke and into the Eversolo streamer, to isolate the stream from the noisy processor and power supply in the Nuke? Will I still be able to use and control Roon using my phone and my tablet?
Thanking you in advance of your help and speedy reply.

Our i7 NUC and Eversolo T8 are on the same network, and it is a very good combination. The T8 outputs to a Denafrips Terminator Plus DAC.

Hi Dr A, were you using the Nuke as a streamer into your Denafrips before using the T8? If so, did the T8 make a noticeable difference and are you controlling it using Roon? We are in the same boat, I am using a Denafrips Pontus 15.

I used the NUC early on (2019) as a streamer and then the Auralic G2. I now switch between the Auralic and the Eversolo T8. Yes, a separate streamer sounds better to me.

Hi, did you have any problem getting the T8 to recognize and interface with the Nuke? Eversolos manual is not too explicit and their support doesn’t seem to be to complete!

The NUC is attached to your network. The T8 is attached to your network. The T8 outputs to your Denafrips DAC. Does that make sense? See my screen capture above.

I don’t have an Eversolo. But since the T8 is being listed as Roon Ready. Your Roon NUC will find it. As long as they are on the same network.

You don’t need to physically connect the two. As the music data is sent through the network connection. For best results have them connect to your network using Ethernet and not wifi.

Thank you for your response, and the way you outline the connections is the way it is going to be set up. I am diving in with the Eversolo T8 and I will let the community know the outcome!

I do not know if the T8 sounds any different from our Auralic G2, but I own both until the G2 sells. I think the combination of the Eversolo T8 and their Z10 DAC is a very nice combination and likely foretells of a future of less expensive items like the ONIX SACD transport. Arguably the devices from which I get the most casual use are the WIIM Sound speakers and the Eversolo PLAY.
