Hello, since ARC can not support when Roon contains very large libraries, since the devices reach the memory limit, you could think of a “Lite” ARC version stripped of many functions and that loads only playlists or albums selected in Roon and their number contained in a few hundred or thousand.
It might make more sense to have a configuration area in Roon that allows you to limit the content that is synced to ARC; it may be as simple as a flag similar to “banned” that is instead called “No ARC” and used for the purpose you envision. If you agree, it might be best to have this as a separate feature request and have it named differently to gather support. The title as currently articulated can be interpreted in many ways by many people and might not get focused support.
Or, enter another feature suggestion.
I definitely agree, selecting in Roon the material and functions to share with ARC lite would be optimal. Or alternatively a function that limits the memory consumption of the application so that it works properly on a phone.
