Volume changes on endpoint not reflected in Roon app (ref#WPYGO6)

What’s happening?

Describe the issue

When I change the volume on my endpoint it doesn't change in the Roon app, so then if I adjust the volume from the Roon app the volume can jump substantially.

Good day @edward.roden90 !

What you describe can happen when there is no feedback from the endpoint to Roon. For example if your device is connected via HDMI and you use DSP volume leveling in Roon.

Can you please describe your set up and how it is connected ?

Looking forward to your reply!

Regards.

Hello,

I thought I was contacting Roon support - not making a public post! I would have been a bit more thoughtful in my wording had I known that…

I have an iPhone 15 Pro (generally what I use as my Room controller), an MacBook Air M2 (my Roon Core) and an NAD M10 V2 (my Roon endpoint). All software and firmware is up to date across all devices. Everything is connected via WiFi. There is no hdmi plugged into the M10 - only an optical input from my TV. I do use Roon’s volume leveling setting.

When I change the volume in the Roon app it changes the volume on my M10 in real time. But if I use the NAD remote and change the volume on the M10, say from 80 down to 60, Room doesn’t recognize that. So then if I go back to the Roon app and tap volume down, the volume actually jumps way up to 79 because it still thinks it’s going down from 80.

Thanks,
Ed

Update - unplugging the M10 for a few minutes and plugging back in solved the issue. I am now also able to use the RAAT protocol, and the volume is staying synched with volume leveling enabled.

Thanks,
Ed
