Description of Issue

When adjusting the volume externally (e.g. with remote or directly on speakers), the Roon UI does not reflect changes to speaker volume. As a result, when subsequently changing volume from the Roon UI, volume can suddenly increase or decrease.

The speakers did not behave this way in previous versions of Roon. I used to be able to watch the volume indicator in UI change in real time when adjusting volume externally.

I have verified this behavior with both iPad and iPhone remotes.

Hello @JMP,

Please accept my sincere apology for not getting back to you sooner than today  . We would have hoped this won’t be the case…

I was wondering if you’re still running into this issue, would you be able to share a screenshot of your Device Setup in Roon? You can find it if you navigate to Settings → Audio and click on the gear icon :gear: next to the device name. On the pop up window, please, make sure to click on SHOW ADVANCED to expand it.

Thank you so much

Yes, the problem is still present. Here is a screenshot of my device setup.

Apologies. I assumed it was still not working when I posted my message last night. I tested this morning and Roon is behaving correctly. External changes to volume are now visible in the UI in near-time.

This issue is resolved.

Hey @JMP,

Absolutely no need to apologize! It’s always great news to hear that things are working well. I appreciate you keeping us posted

I do hope that the issue does not return, but, if it does though, please make sure to let us know. We’re here for you
