Description of Issue

I am using a NUC as my Roon core running via ethernet to a Raspberry Pi 4 with RoPieee then into my OPPO BDP 105D’s DAC via USB.

The volume on my device keeps setting itself to 96:

I can adjust it back to 100:

It will stay at 100 but will always reset itself to 96 eventually. This is especially a problem for any upsampling as I lose the signal when it is below 100.

This is my signal path:

I have tried changing the volume settings for the device, and it continues to do this behavior if I set it to “fixed volume” or “use device controls”.

Am I missing something?

Thanks

Hi @Eric_Campbell,

Let’s first refresh RAATServer to reset conditions:

  • Create a Backup of your current Roon database
  • Exit out of Roon
  • Navigate to your Roon’s Database Location
  • Find the folder that says “RAATServer”
  • Rename the “RAATServer” folder to “RAATServer_old”
  • Restart the Roon App to generate a new RAATServer folder

The tech support team investigated some routine diagnostics from your Core, and found that the volume value of 96 is associated with a preset tied to the Oppo BDP-105D’s Zone in Roon through the RoPieee.

If you still encounter this issue after reloading your Backup of RAATServer, then please remove the RoPieee from the chain and connect to the OPPO directly. There’s a distinct possibility the RoPieee is commanding this volume preset.

Thank you!
