Describe the issue

Volume leveling set to 0,0 on many Tidal tracks and they sound WAY too loud. And then volume leveling is ignored.

Describe your network setup

Roon core on windows 10

The problem is that Roon is doing as instructed - levelling to 0,0dB…

I can see five versions of this album in Roon; I’ve not checked all of them, but of the two I looked at one is 0,0dB, the other -7,3dB.

I occasionally see this with Tidal releases - explicit/clean, sample rate/bit depth, mqa/not, etc/etc - and sometimes levelling metadata is wrong.

It might get resolved and filter through in time, but in the meantime I’d suggest checking for a version with correct metadata.

Hi @AndyR,

Unfortunately, @AndyR’s explanation is correct. Our streaming service providers maintain massive libraries of track files provided by distributors, and occasional irregularities with volume leveling do occur with Tidal content. This is outside of Roon’s control, but we work hard with our streaming service partners to iron out these irregularities and we appreciate you bringing this particular example to light.
