Hi @Mandla_Mkhwanazi,

Thanks for reaching out — we’ll need a bit more clarity to understand what’s happening here.

First, could you please confirm where your Roon Server is running?

  • Is the Roon Server installed on the same computer where you’re seeing the “Waiting for your Roon server” message?
  • Or is your Roon Server running on a different device on the network (NAS, Nucleus, another PC, etc.)?

If the Roon Server is running on this same computer, please check the following:

  • Do you see the Roon Server icon running in the system tray / menu bar?
    • If yes, please right-click it, choose Quit, then restart the computer and try again.
    • If no, please let us know.

If you’re using a Mac, also please check:

  • System Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network
  • Make sure that Roon (and Roon Server, if listed separately) is allowed access to the local network.

Finally, please let us know:

  • Are you able to access your Roon Server from any other device on your network (phone, tablet, another computer)?
  • Does this message appear immediately on launch, or after Roon has been running for a short time?

Once we have these details, we’ll be able to guide you more precisely.

Hi @Mandla_Mkhwanazi,

It looks like you rely on an all-in-one Mac setup (meaning your RoonServer and primary Roon Remote share one single MacOS machine).

In that case, the Local Network security settings built into MacOS are the most likely culprit. Please try the the final step @vadim has suggested above to toggle Local Network access for Roon in Mac Privacy & Security settings.

We’ll watch for your reply. Thank you!
