Weird sign ins

First time ever since I started using ROON I was warned twice within minutes of a new sign in. I do not use VPN or private relay - I am in Canada not USA and have two factor authentication enabled. Went in and changed my password.

If you need to re log into either Roon or the Roon Community for any reason you will see this report

I have seen it a few times and I can associate with a genuine login so I ignore it.

If you can’t associate with a genuine login I would worry and first step is change you password immediately

In my case the location identified wasn’t exact but was within 50km of me so even more so

But you did recently sign in, for whatever reason?
In that case i’d assume your ISP is load balancing and may report a different public location for your assigned IP. It usually is not THAT far though, but there might be on-going incidents with redundant carriers etc.

I live in mid Sweden, but my public IP is reported from everywhere between Skellefteå and Halmstad, which are about 800 miles apart.

… and if you sign in using a mobile device, you’ll receive that email, and the location could be somewhere entirely different to your actual location.

I had signed on once on my IPad. But without VPN being active I would not expect that to show up as being 4,933KM away. I changed my password and subsequently logged in again to 3 devices without an alerts. Weird Friday.
