When I close Roon, and try to listen Tidal or Spotify the sound of the music sounds like when the speed is 2 times faster.
I have to go to the system -> sound -> playback -> properties and click on the Test button and then the sound comes back in a normal way. Is there anything that I can do in order to swap the playback smoothly without entering into the hateful under the hood of win?
Many thanks!!!
If you stop (pause) the playback in Roon before you close the app, does the issue remain?
Anyway, it has got to do with different samplerates i believe. You should assign designated audio outputs (in exclusive mode) in both Roon and Tidal desktop App. Spotify does not support this i belive?

Thanks Mikael for your quick reply! I have to turn Roon off completely and play the test sound in the sample rate settings.
Also would like to play youtube videos so I think I have to find a software that allows me to set different audio output (or sample rates) for these software as I would like to use the same USB output. Can you guys recommend something?
I dont use Win much these days but in Mac Roon lets go of the “hi jacked” audio device a few seconds after playback stops. Perhaps we could get some feedback from other Win users?
I do get a similar behaviour on my headless MacMini (Roon Bridge only) when i am running Roon Bridge and Spotify (Connect) at the same time (or Tidal desktop app for that matter). I need to STOP playback in Spotify before switching to playing something with Roon, and vice versa. I i dont stop playback, one of the apps hogs the output in exclusive mode and prevents the other from getting access to it.
