What about video

Apart from full concert registrations, ‘singles’ also tend to come with a video (if not several).

Is Roon going to bridge the two worlds? Ie it would be great to be able to have one place to access your music from, whether it is accompanied by visuals or not.

Which would mean a mixed playlist. Depending on the device you’d either see the streaming video as well.

When choosing a song you’d be able to choose from which album or with which video, seamlessly.

Looking at ie Tidal mixing in video and the youtube etc successes that would be a cool feature to have and content enough out there. Perhaps quality is not always great, but hence the choice of version to play.

It’s on our long term roadmap! Tidal is really pushing the content here, and Youtube is often a great source (albeit with horrendous quality).

We were dabbling with video back in 2008 before we (as Sooloos) were acquired by Meridian. Once we are going strong with our new offering, we plan to revisit video.

I’d love to hear any wishlist items here about music related video content.

7.1 and Dolby Atmos.

You tube can be horrendous quality, but it can be extraordinary quality as well if the poster has taken the trouble to do it right.
I use Chromecast and have often be staggered at the quality.

Take a look at this: https://www.digitalconcerthall.com/en/home
I have been a subscriber for a year and the quality of audio and video is excellent, commensurate with its vintage.

Thanks Danny.

Source wise I’d add vimeo to the list.

I will admit to having on occasion tuned into Vimeo via a media player hooked up to my HD projector and routing the audio through my stereo. Very nice way to experience musicians and their art when you’re not listening to albums.
