I’ve mainly been reading litrpg series as filler fodder. I’m now on the second level of recommendations, if you liked this then you’ll like this, if you liked that you’ll like…
I’m interested in this, do you think it’s worth reading? I just had the idea of giving the book as a gift, but I wouldn’t have enough time to read it myself beforehand. Reviews paint a mixed picture; Many say that the original idea is overdone and repeated in a tiresome way after a few sections.
I like it and think it’s a great gift for someone with an interest in the more subversive aspects of pop music. I got it as a gift myself
I didn’t know much about WSB, so it serves ok as a bio. If someone is a WSB expert, they may see this content differently.
I don’t know what the “overdone” means. The original idea is to show the influence he had on music and musicians, so necessarily there is some repetition of who he met, what they thought about him what they did together, but that’s what I’m interested in after all, so it’s not tedious at all to me.
And I had read about many of the encounters through the eyes of the musicians, so it’s interesting to read about them from the other side.
Thanks for your detailed feedback I’ve ordered it. I’m confident that my friend will enjoy the book and that I’ll have the chance to read it myself at some point, too. Thanks again and have a nice Sunday!
Glad if I could help, and I’m sure your friend will like the gift. It’s also a nice one because it comes a bit from left-field, so is probably a nice surprise and interesting for people who have read many rock/pop books.
