I always wanted to see Fleetwood Mac live, but unfornuately that never happened. My wife suggested that we need to go this concert, I was not entirely convinced. I was afraid of some sort of ‘Fleetwood Mac’ cover band kinda setting.
But I was wrong. Really wrong. Blown away by this small woman with loads of charisma. And her voice.
And then there was the band. At some point I found myself figuring out who are these incredible muscisicans, only to find out these are some of the most well-known session musciscians
Long story short: I really regret not seeing here before, but you’re never too old to learn We had a wonderful evening.
I made a video of ‘Stand Back’, which was one of those moments during the concert where the band got some space to show some muscle.
Soda Blonde with the Symphony Orchestra at the National Concert Hall, Dublin, last night.
Brilliant show, songs sounded great orchestrated.
Plus I was lucky to be invited to Thursday’s rehearsal. An audience of one, such a privilege.
Had a nice weekend in central Oregon at the Fairwell Festival in Redmond. Lots of Cowboys/Girls and hippies. Perfect combo for a fun weekend! Some of the highlights were:
Sierra Hull: I hadn’t seen her in a while - She has a new band (with a drummer!) She was great…
Black Pumas: this one caught me off guard. I had listened to their albums, and thought they were good - but live, they crushed it. Had a great time seeing these guys…
Kacey Musgraves: Spacey Kacey. Not really my thing, but had to check her set out. A little ( a lot?) over produced, but the crowd loved it, and a good way to end the festival.

Last night was billed as the Ashes of Leviathan Tour.
Malevolence, Kerry King, Mastodon and Lamb of God.
I missed the first act, heard their last song as I was entering, oh well.
First up was Kerry King who were in fine form and the sound guy had them dialed in really well.
Then Mastodon and this was a crying shame as I think they played well but the sound was atrocious, maybe the sound mixer guys did not like them but I never truly heard one word they sang, guitars were way overbearing drowning out everything else in the mix.
Then the headliners Lamb of God.
Again the sound was very sub par, this time the guitars were a bit subdued and the bass and drums were over whelming, vocals so so.
A real shame but unfortunately Dailys Place has a bad reputation for poor sound.
However hard to complain for just $25 for the night.
Always annoying on a multi band concert when the sound is all over the place.
But as you said it was great value, even if it leaves you a little disappointed
Had a great time yesterdy together with Mrs. Jay on the final day of “Arena Beer Week” listening to local acts KRPL, Hypnotic Floor & Triptonus. Legendary venue, cool people & good beer.
Kim Gordon at Festsaal Kreuzberg, Berlin, a month ago, but my photos were poor. (And I love KG and have the greatest respect, but I thought it was a bit lackluster)
And F.S.K. (Freiwillige Selbstkontrolle) on Friday. They are so old now that they didn’t want to mention the release years of the songs It was so much fun and they have been the smartest German band for 45 years. No photos because they played in the garden of ://aboutblank to start off a weekend-long techno festival and so the camera lenses were stickered shut.
Left To Die (Terry Butler, Rick Rozz, Gus Rios and Matt Harvey) are paying tribute to Chuck Schuldiner’s band Death. They performed the entire “Leprosy” album and some tracks from Death’s debut “Scream Bloody Gore”. It was great to hear those tracks live again/for the first time
Foo Fighters. A true rock concert… almost 3 hours of 100%.
Very thankful I scored field level seats in San Diego.
My only regret was not getting the poster.
