Last night my son and I watched The Twilight Sad and the Cure with 34998 others and a great time was had by all.
The Twilight Sad are a Scottish Indie band my son introduced me to early this year and I have come to really enjoy their music.
What to say about Robert Smith and the Cure, besides he is practically a God. His voice really hasn’t changed in nearly 30 years and he did 2 and a half hours worth of music without a break.
Fantastic show and another one ticked off the bucket list now. Another two getting ticked off over the weekend as well. But I will post those after they have happened.
A friend of mine saw there show this weekend at Pinkpop in the Netherlands. They ended with the Endsong (duh), and is was epic.
Yesterday my wife and I, joined by our eldest, saw A Perfect Circle.

Besides the usual nostalgic feelings that we got because our eldest joined us, the show was fantastic. I was afraid that it would be some kind of ‘copy’ of the Tool show but just toned down, but none of that. Very nice, subtle production.
Besides Josh Freese on the drums, the other thing that (immediately) stood out is Maynard James Keenan. Man, that voice. And it seems that age does not influence his voice in any way.

Got to agree as well, my son has been away for several years, so this was the first time we have been to a concert together since I took him to see Springsteen in 2013.
We are going to see the Flaming Lips next month which should be an experience for us and we would have been seeing Neil Young next week as well.

First up Cardinal Black and Florence Black who put on great shows.
Up next was Mammoth who put on a decent show
Skindred were third on, and was nothing like I have ever seen before. Great show and seriously entertaining.
Headliners were Atler Bridge and they put on a great show. Very professional and over two hours of great music

Sunday I went to see Metallica and Gojira at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, Wales. It was an awesome and very loud evening out. I was in the 4th row from the front of the rail so at times we had some amazing views at times.
First up Gojira and the second time I have seen them in 3 years and both times they have been excellent 
Did they play ‘Delilah’? I heard they did. Also played ‘500 miles’ at the Glasgow show…and, visited the Phil Lynott statue when they were in ROI. Class act in my opinion 
They absolutely did, and were clearly unaware that it has been been banned at the Stadium since 2023. It has always been a crowd favourite and a great sing along was had by most of the 75,000 people in the crowd (even the non Welsh sang along).

It’s a stadium wide ban (as far as I remember) for all events as a lot of choirs would sing it. I think the crowd appreciated the opportunity to belt it out once again. They had clearly missed it.
Along with the work done with blood donation Wales and a large donation to a food bank charity that was running out of food, it was a true touch of class from Metallica

Indeed. I don’t listen to Metallica, but they seem to try and embrace local influences and at least make an effort to connect with local fans.
