What is the latest concert you've been to? [2016-2019]

24th June, ELO at Wembley Stadium

Curiously, ELO’s Greatest Hits was the first album I bought back in 1979…

Saw Andy Allo at Bird’s Basement in Melbourne. She is a former Prince collaborator. Lovely voice and the acoustic guitar stuff really suits her. Band was tight. Much better than the pop direction of her first few albums. The new EP is on Tidal:

As well as her own material she performed some country songs (very tasteful, even Andrea admitted as much) a Prince cover (I Want You in Me) and Tracy Chapman’s Fast Car. Thoroughly enjoyable night.

Vox Sambou were excellent last night

We recently hosted The Annie Keating Trio and Christina Martin full band. You know your in the right room when you tingle from beginning to end overwhelmed by the quality being played before your eyes and ears.
To top it all they are such lovely people.
I can recommend Steve Mayone’s solo album SIDEWAYS RAIN. Steve played Guitar and Mandolin with Annie Keating.

The Annie Keating Trio, Steve Mayone, Annie Keating, Scott Warman

Christina Martin Band Dale Murray Guitar, Christina Martin, Callum Williams Bass, Justin Johnson on Drums is out of shot.

Freddie White, quite possibly only known to Irish audiences. A great guitar player with a sonorous voice that can bring such emotion to interpretations of others songs that makes you totally reassess them.

Highlights last night included
Ashes to Ashes
Going going gone (this was turned into an "all along the watchtower " type interpretation of what I would always have considered a bit of a throwaway Dylan song)
hey that’s no way to say goodbye.

If you happen to be in the Emerald Isle check his tour out, heck you should come here just to seee and hear him.

Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit. He played plenty of the old stuff too, including Stockholm and Elephant. Closed the show with a blistering jam of Whipping Post for Duane Allman.

16/07/2017 at Newton Abbot race course.
Alas Ali Campbell wasn’t present which was rather disappointing.
Supported by China Crisis, FYC & a girl band…“All Saint” singing to backing tracks, I believe :triumph:

Had the pleasure of seeing Bryan Ferry last week, performed a stellar rendition of one of my favorite Roxy Music tracks…absolutely spellbinding.

Lastest live show for me was back in February… 3 kids and a job really cut into my spare time. BUT it was a great night with 4 hours of prog metal! 3 different bands I had never seen before, 2 of which I can’t wait to see again.

First up were Leprous from Norway:

Will be going to see them again in November, they blew me away with their live performance

Then came Between The Buried And Me from Raleigh, NC:

Probably won’t be seeing them again. Maybe they had a bad day, maybe they were just outclassed by the other bands.

And at last, Devin Townsend Project, the utter loon from Canada:

Complete and utter lunacy, but with the technical skill to actually pull it off. An absolute hoot to catch them live.

I thought the tour was cancelled because Howe’s son passed away?

Wrong Yes. This is the Anderson/Wakeman/Rabin Yes. The one that canceled the tour was the Howe/White Yes.
