What Lights Can I Expect On A NUC?

Hi,

just installed ROCK on a 7i7BNH (8GB RAM with 120 GB SSD) but not sure everything went as it should. This is my 2nd NUC, the first one having failed after 4 hours of use. I transplanted the SSD and RAM into the replacement and upgraded the BIOS. Not sure this went well though as it seemed to get stuck near the end of the upgrade process, not displaying a ‘completed’ message as it did before. The only way out of this was to power off/on. Went through the BIOS config changes necessary then the familiar ROCK boot up screen showed itself along with IP address. All good I thought but there are no lights on the front of the NUC! There was a blue power button light initially before BIOS upgrade but all blank since. Is this a setting in the BIOS that I have inadvertently changed, a result of an incomplete BIOS update or a faulty NUC?
ROCK is working fine as far as I can tell for 4 days now (but have had a few short disconnects to all Remote clients) but I have yet to upgrade it to the latest version (it is on the release version downloaded the day ROCK was released). I just wanted to check it was all working OK before doing any upgrades.

The LED lights are controlled by the BIOS.
Go back to your BIOS and reconfigure them:

I opted to turn down the lights on my NUC but the bios update can be a bit delicate…I recall mine was sort of stuck in no mans land for a bit not showing what was happening…but so far so good in the end.

Thanks for the replies and link. Will take a look when I have some spare time. I certainly didn’t change anything when configuring it so perhaps it didn’t fully reset to default settings at the F9 stage of setup?
