Lovely music. Perhaps not a recording of the greatest clarity.

Such a great album, which I only discovered fairly recently through this thread.

Dear lord what a nightmare of an album. Opera singers should leave popular music alone it always sounds weird to me.

Totally agree. Some years ago, I had a front row seat at the Kennedy Center in DC for the premiere screening of the film “Yes, Giorgio.” Pavarotti was there, as it starred him. His film rendition of “Nessun Dorma” from Turandot was sublime. His rendition of “I Left My Heart in San Francisco” was an utter disaster. Go figure!

Superb remastering. The audio quality is up there with the DVD Audio of Art Pepper Meets the Rhythm Section. And that’s saying something. Same format too with Getz in the left channel and the drums in the right!

I’m listening to the TIDAL MQA 192k; no doubt it also sounds great in Qobuz 24/192 FLAC.

Ooh I couldn’t find an MQA version on Tidal (perhaps it dropped a little later in the UK) but I’ve purchased the Qobuz 24/192 and it is stunning. There is actually a little more genuine stereo going on than with the Art Pepper one, as Roy Haynes’ drums do seem to stretch across the soundstage from their position (basically) on the right…
