I had not followed Pablo Held for some years, since I moved from Cologne. But he has really developed a nice sound with his band. Thanks for sharing.

A fantastic recording of an interesting man. When he recorded this album he was already ill. He died of cancer only one year later. A testament.

Osmo Vänskä has been the Minnesota Orchestra’s Musical Director since 2003, so he knows very well how to get the best from his musicians. But the real star of this recording is Jens Braun, responsible for recording and mixing at BIS. What a wonderfully balanced recording, nuanced, warm, greatly dynamic. I only wish all modern orchestral recordings would try to emulate this benchmark.
