I generally like his releases a lot, but was really disappointed with this .

I read a few “middling” reviews before it was released and so I didn’t have very high expectations. For me it’s one of those albums that just works. Essentially it’s one piece of music that shifts subtly throughout its duration. I can definitely see why some might find it rather dull

Fair enough! I prefer his more uptempo stuff - IMHO there are people doing the Ambient/Berlin School thingy far better.
