When does Roon refresh Smart Playlists?

With the latest update, this issue is still not resolved. Smart playlists with time based parameters do not update automatically.

I’m having the same issue. I use tags to create the smart playlists and for some reason they do not sync in full eg:

I have 50 tracks an only 41 are showing…

could it be the banned tracks?
or maybe the hidden tracks?

This still hasn’t been sorted. I have a SPL set up for favourites not played in the last month. There was only 6 tracks in it with last played date in March. I removed and re-added the negative of played in the last month and suddenly 116 tracks appeared. Makes this type of smart play list pointless.

Not sure I understand what you do here?

You can set the focus to include “played in the last month” if you hit the + on that focus, it changed it to a - This effectively changes it to a “not played in the last month”

yeah, I was hoping the smart playlists would be the perfect solution for playing a large random focus while filleting out previously played tracks as @Daz_Davies does - It seems like focus items that are based on a timestamp don’t get updated unless you drop and re-add the item:

I tried just resaving the above focus and nothing changed. Here though , I removed and readded

“-Played in the last 3 months”

and get much less. I do think when you add new albums they get added when you restart the Playlist -

I hope this can be addressed.

I think something has been messed up as when I first created it, it would update itself and remove favourited tracks if I’d played them within the last month. Then it suddenly stopped doing it and hasn’t done it since.

The playlists my be smart, but they are also :face_with_symbols_over_mouth: lazy…

Could be a great feature but simply not reliable.

in all fairness, I’m pretty lazy too, and perhaps at least in my case, maybe it’s just not updating the count and actually working - sounds like @Daz_Davies did a proper test though…?

I tested by looking at the last played date of a bunch of my favourites and saw that many had not been played in well over a month but weren’t on the “favourites not played in last month” list. I then removed that focus point on the smart list. Saved. Then re-added it and all the tracks that should be there suddenly appeared.
