Where do I put downloaded music to be monitored by My Library in Roon

Well, Connect will connect you to the SonicTransporter, and Use This PC will install RoonServer ON THAT PC, which is what you never want unless you are actually using that PC as a server.

Phew! That’s what I thought. Sorry for the baby steps. Thanks to you et al. for patient help.

Does adding ‘_old’ to the name nullify it, turn it off in some way. Thanks!

Yes, but you can see just above that Roon created a new RoonServer.

Yes, thanks again for the tip about ‘Quit.’ I would never have found that without help.

So, again, I ask: where do I put downloaded music? What folder is Roon Server watching? Is the regular old Windows music folder? I just downloaded a song, put it in Music, but it hasn’t gone into my Library. This is my original question.

Roon is watching whatever folder you told it to. Here’s mine with my huge local library of 42 tracks:

I also have a Roon server on my Dell laptop with the same 42 tracks in a watched folder on the Dell. This is for travel:

Again, I don’t know how to do that.

The sonictransport path is no longer in File Explorer. How do I get rid of that?

What music folder is it in this view? How do I put new music in it? I’m lost, again.
The ST, which has a 2TB SSD in it is where I want to send new music files. But it’s gone from FE. But you see it on the screenshot under ‘Choose music storage folder.’
The ST used to be under NETWORK in FE, but now its’ gone. I would expand ST and drop files in music > flac. How do I get the ST back under NETWORK?

That is a question for the maker of the SonicTransporter not Roon because it is using it’s own OS’ file structure. Roon is just using the base OS’s music folder.

Hey @David_Bollinger,

Checking in on your issue, we’re curious if you were able to sort things out with SGC directly?

@Rugby is correct in the statement above. Let us know your status!

I was able to get help from the owner of Small Green Computer, who sold the server. Please consider this ticket solved.
And huge thanks to you and the Roon team in general.
Dave
