Four+ years of getting my library together … why has most of it disappeared?

This really is the pits ………….. can anybody suggest a resolve :tired_face::tired_face:

@Peter_Boyse, can you please provide the additional information in the requested categories? Roon staff and the Community don’t have much information from you to understand and diagnose what you are experiencing.

Roon does not touch your music library. It’s still wherever you put it plus wherever you put your music backups. Now, it is possible something happened to your Roon library such as your “watched” folder got disconnected. Maybe go to Roon - Settings - Storage and post a screen shot.

Also, if your Roon library includes links to music files in Tidal and/or Qobuz, they will restore themselves or can be restored from your most recent Roon backup.

I dont quite understand what you’re asking.
What additional information do you require?
My album libary has deminished from 1500+ albums to less than 250.
Were have they gone??
I’ve just re installed a back up, which has got most back , but not all.
What on earth has gone wrong ???

Local library or streaming library is one question. Which is it? Streaming libraries do come and go. It will all come back.

Thank you @Suedkiez , @Jim_F, and @SukieInTheGraveyard. @Peter_Boyse, also what do you use for a Roon Core (PC/Mac/Linux/Nucleus/ROCK, model and type), what version of Roon are you running, and what operating system do you use if not a Nucleus/ROCK.

Do you have a recent backup or backups of your Roon database created from within Roon?

Yes, just reinstalled the latest backup. (Five days ago) all this went tits up after the last Roon update. Got most, if not all of my albums back….

No issues for four + years and then this !!! It’s very disconcerting !!

Sorry to be so negative.

Peter

You still haven’t answered…are you talking about your own music files or Tidal links or Qobuz links? Several people here have experienced loss of Qobuz links that come back in a few hours or a day. I have never heard an explaination for that.

All… Tidal / Qobus / Ripped music via NAS Drive

Now restored from latest back up… how the loss accured, I know not.

It does happen, particularly with Qobuz. All’s well that ends well. A comedy rather than a tragedy.

I marked this as solved. @Peter_Boyse, please post another thread if this repeats itself.

Have you backed-up your drive? If lists are “in” Tidal, etc., they will re-populate themselves. Cheers!
