I connect a library of local audio files to my Intel 7i7BNH NUC running Roon ROCK via one of its USB 3 ports, and would prefer to format the USB drive with Apple’s APFS file format. Which file systems does ROCK support?
Running Version 1.7 (build 571)

USB Storage - Best Practice
If you’re going to directly connect a USB drive to your Core, you will have some options about how you want to format your drive.
We recommend USB drives connected to ROCK be formatted exFAT if you requires compatibility, or EXT4 if you don’t.
Advantages of using exFAT include:
Cross platform compatibility (macOS, Windows, Linux)
No real limits on drive size or file size
ROCK will also work with NTFS ,FAT32, and EXT2/3/4 drives, but if you are starting fresh with USB storage, our recommendation would be to use exFAT.
To be clear, then, Roon does NOT support APFS?
No it isn’t. Search the forum “APFS USB” or Google “roon APFS USB”
Thank you for your help John and Ged. It turns out my disk format was not HFS+, but rather the new APFS. I have formatted a new drive as exFAT and that drive can be used on both my MAC and the Nucleus+. Now it’s just a question of copying 2.5 TB of music.
