Why can't I use Roon on my desktop when the desktop falls asleep?

Roon Core Machine

Mac mini M2, 16gb, 2tb

My Roon is on my Mac mini. When the Mac mini locks or falls asleep, Roon is no longer available. I can log into Roon but there are no audio devices. Which settings do I need to enable to allow this to happen?
