How can this be? Search for Wichita lineman. No sign of glen Campbell. Have to search for Wichita lineman glen campbell. Until you drop the second l you don’t get the definitive track. What’s the go here? Conspiracy?
Yes, definitely a conspiracy, big pharma are losing their hair over the last two lines in the hidden verse! Apparently, Glen new about their inhaler scam and wanted to tell the world, but sadly his message was too obscure; however with the use of AI, smart cookies are able to decode the meaning of the verse and all is laid bare!
Ah, I see you only have the “sanitised” version!
Lately, as in the past few years, Wichita Lineman is becoming something of a jazz standard and is appearing on quite a few recordings. Unfortunately none of these recordings appears to feature Glen Campbell.
Yeah, he wrote it for Campbell, so why the grief?
The horror of having the pop-up keyboard cover the “See all results” button when the results are in some unknown order…
Not nice but the checkmark button (or Enter button in the same place on iOS) on the keyboard does exactly the same thing
Indeed and thanks. I was posting to highlight what I thought was slightly absurd that what most people would have thought of as the most famous version wasn’t brought up until that whole string was entered. Clicking all results didn’t and doesn’t change that. Anyway so long guys. Have fun shouting at each other.
Is Pat Metheny in your library? Perhaps in favourites?
Interested to see if ranking takes your library into account.
Yup, same for me ![]()
Some testing here suggests it does; searching for relatively common words often results in something from my library at the top of the list.
Whilst I love “Wichita Lineman” - I love “In the aeroplane over the sea” even more - great choice
One of the all-time great songs, IMSHO. “And I need you more than want you, and I want you for all time…”
If I could write a song like Wichita Lineman I’d call myself a songwriter. It’s a classic.
