Will 1 subscription work on 2 systems

Hello
I’m considering purchasing Roon for my music. I run two systems in my house with streamers on both systems. One is a Bryston bdp 2 and one is an Aurlic. My question is… Can I use one Roon subscription to operate both systems. I only ever operate one system at a time.

Thanks for any advice

Welcome to the Roon community, @Paul_King1.

Absolutely, most use Roon with multiple setups in their homes (and these may be used simultaneously.)

As long as they are being fed by the same Roon core. If fed by different Roon cores, that’s OK, but you can’t use them simultaneously. You have to unauthorize one core and authorize another core.

For the OP, having two cores (what serves the media files) is unnecessary in one location.

Yes, but he might have multiple cores. I have three.

Let’s not confuse @Paul_King1 … he’s just starting out, and “considering purchasing Roon for [his] music.”

I gave him info you omitted. I think he can understand just fine. For instance, he may use one core in his house and another in his shop, out back, etc.

Yes you can. Have you setup a single Roon Core or have both your systems their own core?

If it’s the latter then you will have to unauthorize a core if you wish to use the other one.

You can setup as many cores as you like. But only one can be authorized at any given time.

And if that’s the goal, let’s add that the two libraries will be independent unless one copies backups from one to the other.

In one location, I think it would be preferable to have one core and network both systems to it, if feasible

Yes you can Roon can feed as many hifi systems you have in your home, if they are Roon compatible to start with. Roons licence is for the server core side and is the brain of the operation, the license is not for how many devices you can serve from it this is limitless ( although hardware limitations will come into play if you using more than one at the same time)
