Will changing storage location impact Recent Activity - "Added"

I need to do some major NAS housekeeping. I’m planning on moving all my music to a different location for a few days and change the RAID configuration. Will this impact Home screens recent activity when I move all the files back and rescan the storage location?

I have a large local library and make frequent use of the Recent Activity Added feature. I’m hoping that after two moves of various storage locations they won’t all show as added on the same day.

My other thought it turn off the NUC and not do anything with Roon for a few days, but that is less than desirable. Even if I do that, the ultimate final storage location will be different than it currently is. I’m guessing if above changes the added order so will this.

Thoughts, ideas, suggestions?

If roon recognizes all the albums as identical to the ones in your previous folders and you do not mess up with a ´live transfer´ while roon is watching folders, everything should fall back in place and albums are shown with their original import date i.e. they are not shown as ´recently added´.

Creating a fresh roon backup and disabling or removing old folders before moving any files are always good ideas for a proper relocation. Sometimes it takes roon a while to recognize everything in the new folders so be patient.

Just to close the loop. It seems as if Disabling the old ones, doing my NAS work then adding back the new ones was all that was needed.

Thanks all!

All you needed to do was disable the existing storage in Roon then edit the path it points to. Re-enable it then won’t re-analyse the entire library. If you add a new location it will treat it as new storage location and re-analyse the entire thing taking a lot longer. But if it worked no worries.
