Hello @hw3218988310,

Thank you for reaching out.

Windows 11 (especially version 24H2) includes new security policies that can block access to non-Windows SMB shares, such as \\ROCK\Data. This is why your Windows 7 machine can see the ROCK, but the Windows 11 PC cannot.

To access your internal storage, please follow the same guidelines we use for Nucleus — the steps are identical for ROCK (only the network name differs):

https://help.roonlabs.com/portal/en/kb/articles/nucleus-internal-storage#Method_1_Copy_Music_Over_the_Network_Recommended

If Windows 11 still refuses to connect, you may need to adjust SMB settings via Group Policy Editor or PowerShell, as described in the referenced article.

Please try the instructions above and let us know if you’re still unable to connect — we’re happy to help further.

Hi @hw3218988310,

Please review the responses above. Let us know if you still require assistance. Here’s a more thorough set of steps from Microsoft for enabling secure guest logon on Windows 11:

Hi @hw3218988310,

Checking in on this thread, did the above information help? Thank you!

Hi @hw3218988310,

We haven’t seen any response to this thread in several days and our support diagnostics indicate that you might not have logged into Roon since you last posted.

Just to reiterate, the Windows 11 update disabled guest fallback for third-party network shares, so you’ll need to take the steps we shared in the posts above in order for SMB to work in your Roon setup.

We noticed you’re on a Roon trial account. The team will gladly extend your trial since you lost time to troubleshooting. Please reply here if you’d like another chance to try Roon with a trial extension, and we’ll promptly respond via PM.

In any case, we’ll watch for your response. Please note that without any response, this thread will close due to inactivity in another few days. Thank you!
