That crash during reinstall points to something local on the Windows machine, so we should narrow down whether it is the installer itself, a leftover Roon component, or a broader Windows stability issue.
Before we go further, it would help to know:
What version of Windows 10 is installed, and is the PC fully up to date?
Does the crash happen as soon as you launch the installer, or later in the install process?
Is this PC running Roon Server, the Roon Remote app, or both?
Do you have any antivirus, endpoint protection, or system tuning software installed on that machine?
In the meantime, please try one pass with Roon fully removed, then reboot the PC and install again from a fresh download rather than a previously saved installer. If the crash is tied to a damaged local component, that can clear it out.
If it still crashes, let us know the exact point where it happens and whether Windows shows any crash details via Windows Event Viewer or event log entries around the same time.
I run windows 10 pro roon server and remote i have tried both old and new downloads it still crashes 20 to 30 seconds after the installer starts i will try to find the eventlog
That timing is helpful, and it does sound like the crash is happening locally on the Windows machine rather than during the download itself. If you are able to access Logs or save Event Viewer files, please send them to our uploader here:
Apologies, but are you able to upload another set of Event Viewer logs for us to compare/corroborate? We’ll need a little more data but should have a clear idea of what’s happening then.
