It sounds like the Windows remote is getting stuck while trying to reach your Roon Server, so we should narrow down where the connection is breaking.
To get a clearer picture, a few things would help:
What is your Roon Server running on, Windows, macOS, Linux, Nucleus, or ROCK?
How is that server connected to the BT Broadband Hub 2, wired Ethernet or WiFi?
Are there any switches, mesh nodes, or powerline adapters in between?
What exactly do you see on the Windows PC when it says it is connecting, does it keep spinning, or does it eventually time out?
In the meantime, please make sure both the Windows PC and the Roon Server are on the same local network, and that the server machine is fully powered on and not sleeping. If the server is on Windows, it can also help to confirm that the RoonServer app is running in the system tray.
Once we know the server platform and how it is wired into the network, we can take the next step from there.
I have been worrying about nothing. You are correct. There was a previous unclosed programme which was still downloading at the same time that I was trying to connect to the Roon server. But it wasn’t very obvious to me at the time. I closed everything down and did a good old fashioned restart. Everything appears to be absolutely fine with my Roon server now and I shall definitely be continuing my subscription with you, and my new Roon server. At the moment, I have a sublime subscription with Qobuz, but I can’t receive any of their Hi res streaming because it is only sending the information to my Linn series 3 speakers via Airplay at the moment. I can’t wait to see the improvement in the streaming audio quality. Roon, will give me all the bell and whistles and the magic I am currently missing from my music at the moment. Kind Regards, Stuart C.
We’ll need a screenshot of the Signal Path in order to proceed with troubleshooting. This topic thread will shortly auto-close without any new responses. Please reach out if we can assist further. Thank you!
