Description of Issue

I’ve used the Roon app on this computer many times and could always play audio on the computer selecting it as a zone. Today when I launched Roon it prompted to to “Selectd an audio zone” and that list no longer contains this computer, only the chromecasts, apple tvs, etc. on my network.

How do I get my computer to reappear as a zone so I can play locally?

It’s possible that a Windows Update has affected the Windows Firewall settings for Roon. Check the list of apps allowed to communicate through Windows Defender Firewall. There should be entries for raatserver.exe (Private and Public) and roon.exe (Private and Public)

Thanks, that was it! There are two inbound rules for each binary, one for TCP and one for UDP. They were marked Public. I added Private to all four and it’s working again.
