Describe the issue

I have a Bluesound system, 4 Flex 2i, 2 Flex, 1 Power Node 2i (with passive speakers). They are configurated in the 3 groups (Bedroom, Kitchen and Home Theather).
When I stream Tidal with Roon the music stops after 15-30 seconds. Also when I ungroup all players.

Describe your network setup

I have a Bluesound system, 4 Flex 2i, 2 Flex, 1 Power Node 2i (with passive speakers). They are configurated in the 3 groups (Bedroom, Kitchen and Home Theather).

I use the BluOS app with Android (Pixel 8, Android 15)
My Router is a TP Link Archer AX 1500 bridged to a modem: Sagemcom f@st 3890 v3 CH. No extenders.

Hi @Jorgen_Ekelund,
Thanks for reaching out to us to ask about this issue. I want to make sure I understand the issue you’re facing. You are having playback failures on all of your speakers when playing from Tidal. This happens both when the speakers are grouped together and when they are unpaired. Can you confirm that this is what is happening?

Also can you please note the date, time and track playing the next time one of these dropouts happens? We can use that information to track down the event in our diagnostics.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation!

Hi, you have understood the issue correctly.
Unfortunately I can not use Roon any more as my trial expired.

Regards,
Jörgen

Hey @Jorgen_Ekelund,
Not to worry, I’ve gone ahead and setup a new trial on your account, so that you can continue troubleshooting. You can view this change via Your Account.

Fingers crossed for a swift resolution! :crossed_fingers:

Hi, thank you for setting up a new trial.
I have uploaded some screen shots that show my issues.

  1. Music stops suddenly (Tidal Media loading Slowly.png)
  2. Auio Device unavailable (from different groups). Note that I can hear the music in players.

With my first trial I remember having problems with my BluOS when the Roon Icon appeared within the BluOS app. It is not present now, though. I would prefer to play all my music through Roon, not BluOS, for many reasons. However, should the Roon icon be present in the BluOS app?

Regards,
Jörgen

Hi,

Any news on my issue? I have noticed that when the Roon Ready icon appears within the BluOS app the music also stops when I play it with BluOS.

Jörgen

i have the same problem. running BluOS Node X on eero network with brand new Arris surfboard S34 cable modem. (replaced my old Motorolla modem because i thought it might be the problem.)

Hey @Jorgen_Ekelund,

You have my sincerest apologies for the delay in following up on your issue. If you could, please reproduce the issue and provide a fresh date, time, and name of the track playing when the issue occurs.

If you play via Roon Ready, does the same issue occur?

How is your Roon Server connected to your network? If you could, please set up a direct ethernet connection from your server directly to your router, and let me know if the same issues persist.

Thank you!

@Kirk_Wallace, please fill out your own support thread via our typeform below:

Hello,
My Roon Server is, since the beginning, installed on my desktop PC that is connected via ethernet to the router. I have had the same problem playing with the Roon Ready from inside the BluOS app.

Jörgen

Hi @Jorgen_Ekelund,

Thank you for your patience.

We’ve taken a close look at diagnostics available from your RoonServer. We see the Tidal API has unauthorized the listening session due to account invalidity. If your Tidal account has lapsed or changed tiers, you won’t be able to play full-length content at high resolution.

However, this doesn’t rule out that there is a resolvable underlying network issue affecting sync with these endpoints.

Please first verify your account through Tidal’s own account page, then log out and back in via Settings → Services → Tidal in Roon. This should fully resync your account with Roon, if it is active. From there, please reproduce the issue once more and provide a timestamp and the name of the track that was playing. If there is packet loss in the network causing dropouts or sync errors, we should be able to identify it in the subsequent log set containing the event.

Thank you!

Hi Connor,

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately the Roon trial ended a couple of days ago so I can’t log into Roon anymore. Please give me some advice.

Jörgen

Hi,

Can you please clarify what you mean with “Tidal API has unauthorized the listening session due to account invalidity. If your Tidal account has lapsed or changed tiers, you won’t be able to play full-length content at high resolution.”?

How does that affect me? Is it something I can change in the Tidal settings?
When looked at my Tidal settings → Audio&Playback and the WiFi streaming as set to Max (Up to 24-bit, 192 kHz). Is that OK?

Then I went into Roon and logged out the Tidal service and in again.

When I play in my Kitchen zone it says that the Kitchen left player is unavailable, the volume bar is not there. I can hear the music in the left though, but only if the right is on. The track is Blessed Feet - Tord Gustavsen Trio and the time is 14:49 CET.

The same happens with the Bedroom zone, this time the Bedroom Right is unavailable. And also with the Hometheather zone, here the Livingroom Left player is unavailable.

Please let me know how to proceed.
REgards,
Jörgen

I changed zone with the same song playing until 14:52. So, I can’t manage the players individually.

Hi @Jorgen_Ekelund ,

What @connor means is that Qobuz is saying that your account either doesn’t exist anymore or has changed to a lower tier that doesn’t allow you to play high-res tracks in their entirety. Can you check what tier your Tidal subscription is?

Hi, I suppose you mean Tidal? I don´t use Qobuz, never had. My Tidal subscription allows me max WifFi streaming (24-bit, 192 kHz).
Regards,
Jörgen

Hi @Jorgen_Ekelund,

Yes, the Tidal API is rejecting requests to play high-resolution content because your account tier is not authorized. If you believe this is in error, then first verify your Tidal tier in their account page directly and then sign out and back in of Tidal in Roon Settings → Services.

Please let us know if this helps.

Hi Connor, as I mentioned in the thread, my Tidal subscription has always allowed me high-resolution content. I also signed in and out from my Tidal account but the problem persisted, but not very frequently.

What is more worysome is the second problem:
“When I play in my Kitchen zone it says that the Kitchen left player is unavailable, the volume bar is not there. I can hear the music in the left though, but only if the right is on. The track is Blessed Feet - Tord Gustavsen Trio and the time is 14:49 CET.
The same happens with the Bedroom zone, this time the Bedroom Right is unavailable. And also with the Hometheather zone, here the Livingroom Left player is unavailable.”

That means I can’t control one of the players individually.

Any ideas how to fix that?

Regards,
Jörgen
