With the introduction of docker - are we going to start seeing more integration with the selfhosting community?

The selfhosting community is getting bigger and bigger everyday.

I think Roon has tried to segregate themselves from the selfhosting community, for example pushing everything in the “tinkering” section of their community with little to no engagement except for community volunteer moderators… even though they create software that requires people to selfhost it themselves.

But the level of integration is quite poor - not sure if it’s Roon’s pricing being a blocker for developers considering spending their effort in this space, Roon’s API being antiquated or archaic, or general lack of support.

I’d love to see more / better integration with:

  • Home Assistant
  • Homebridge
  • Other smart home platforms - such as Apple Home, etc.

There’s some real room for improvement.

I’ve said it before it really annoys me when my threads are moved here as I too think it’s like a silencing / censoring. Especially as feedback is set by the forum powers that be to not show up in “Latest”. It feels like the naughty step, just one step above post deletion

It might be acceptable if someone from Roon actually showed up here and commented but it’s tumbleweed.
