Years of frustration with Roon - Sluggishness, drop-outs, and playlist issues

I have a similar NUC setup, I had problems for a while several years back and ultimately determined the OS file system disk was corrupt. I wiped the existing drive partition, created new and formatted with EXT4. Much to my (pleasant) surprise all of the issues I had been having were resolved. Roon has been rock solid since the reformat and reload. (about 18 months). Might be worth a try. I did the drive wipe and format on a different machine using a third party software product (maybe Paragon) on windows.

HTH,

Steve

Maybe you want to try? If I am not mistaken, a trial period like 30 days is for free with Tidal.

Had exactly the same thing happening with the system drive and a corrupted database.

I actually signed up after my post! :joy:

$2 for 60 days. we shall see, The new ROON update might help as well. :man_shrugging:

You are not alone. Many will tell you they have no issues with ROON. Personally, I don’t believe this to be the case. There are issues with the software, which should run on simple hardware, but hardly a week goes by that I don’t experience some kind of issue.

My Roon Rock on an Intel i5 Nuc runs 24/7 silently and without any glitches.

Not normal, maybe, but hardly uncommon. Read some of the reviews of the android app on Google Play store

That’s always the best advice to give developers.

BUT there is the other segment of the audience who’s “Feature” hasn’t made it yet
