It’s me in the photo. My son took it with his iPhone, in Chiyoda, Tokyo.

We went back to Hautes Fagnes today. First time since the devastating wild fire from August that burned roughly 3000 hectares. This was the biggest fire in over a century and the ecological damage will take decades to restore.
I’ve posted lots of pictures of this region in the last couple of years and many of those places have now been completely destroyed.
The impacted zone + huge buffer zone are still off-limits due to the occasional flare-ups and collapsing trees.

One tiny zone that was possible to photograph.

Is only the last photo of today? And where was it taken?

Thanks,

LD

All from yesterday’s hike . The last one was at Baraque Michel. I had a quick stop there as the fire came right upto the road there and the damage was visible.

Morning Dew…

Thanks.

The image nicely shows the affected area. I was there a few weeks before the fire. It is now a bit of a shock. I’ll definitely go back next month.

All in Tokyo.

A wander up to the Dream sculpture, with one of my old pals.

I’m living on the hill, way off in the distance.

A wander along Crosby beach last Thursday. Revisiting Antony Gormley’s Another Place statues.
That’s North Wales across the water.

Great pics!!!

I think I made a similar comment regarding one of @Tian_Liu photos. Maybe we could make a sub topic related to ‘Two Against Nature’ influenced pictures?
I actually have a great one from when I was a kid. Note to self - find that photo.

A few more Tokyo photos, end of August. Every single day during our stay was hot, humid, cloudy, and occasionally rainy. That’s why color is dull.

My son went into an unassuming garment store in Shibuya, Jingumae. My wife and I waited outside till it started to rain again, then I went in. The painting inside is numbered and signed by Andy Warhol.

You would think they would put some clothes on…:face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Sometimes a cheeky visitor may adorn them with a Liverpool or Everton shirt or scarf, but I’m not sure Gormley would go to the length (cough) of covering them up when the sculptures are cast from his body.
Bit of fresh air never did anyone any harm :slightly_smiling_face::wink:
