Canon SX-70 - bridge camera on a bean bag
Wonderful, have a great time - envious already:
We got back last week, still sorting the photos, this one just stuck out
Sometimes the best shots are taken in the camp, from our hut patio with a G & T, probably a meter long !!
I’m very impressed Mike, both with the wildlife & the capabilities of you and your Canon. SWMBO asked me what I’d like for my birthday, The Powershot SX70 HS arrives in the next few days (pre-birthday)…
The joy of digital photography , you chuck plenty away but you get some goodies in the old days i suspect I was a bit more conscious of film and processing costs.
The Canon is most impressive , its easily handled and the autofocus is very accurate. The display is very bright and sharp. There are quick zoom rockers on the barrel which come in handy to find a distant subject and the zoom in to get the close up. Many of these bird shots are at the high end of its range as they are small subjects but the sharpness is still good .
I am normally using a bean bag across the window frame , but the Canon is a massive 21 - 1365 mm lens so you need to keep quite still. Parks like Kruger can be a bit hit and miss, you can drive for hours and see nothing but THEN. Patience is a virtue
Its only 5 hrs away so we try to get there at least every year , usually end of May for my birthday

Just trying to lure @wideopensource into posting some more of his stunning street photography
