Thank you for your post. The team will check logs to confirm what’s happening with the Zone image request.
Just to confirm, the first time you encountered this was August 16?
Do you have any other artwork in Roon (album covers, etc.) that fails to populate successfully?
We’re unable to replicate any issues with the Wiim Ultra Zone image in Device Setup, so we’ll need to investigate this particular setup and network environment.
Yes, it first happened just before posting the issue. I had been using Roon with the Ultra for about a week when the icon stopped populating. Other than that Roon recognizes and works fine with the Ultra.
I have not noticed any other images failing to populate in Roon.
I run Roon Core on my laptop in two different homes. I’m now away from the network with the WiiM Ultra, so I can’t confirm the problem or any fix until I’m back on that network at the end of this week.
Actually, I now realize I can demonstrate the issue away from the network with the WiiM Ultra device by going to:
Settings > Audio > WiiM Pro > Not Your Device > Identify Your Device > WiiM
On this network I have two Windows 10 computers, one running Roon Server and the other only using Roon Remote. Only the computer running Roon Server is missing the icon for Ultra (image below).
It’s odd that the Ultra icon worked fine for several days, then suddenly disappeared. The computer running only Roon Remote has never had an Ultra on its network, so I don’t know if that is a precondition for the disappearing icon.
One possibly significant difference between the two computers is on the computer running Roon Server I use a dedicated Windows user for installing Roon, then use “runas.exe” to launch both Roon Server and Remote. Batch file text for that is below.
So, I don’t know if running Roon Server from a dedicated Windows user which is launched using “runas.exe” is the difference, or if running my second computer’s Roon Remote on the network with the Ultra would have the same issue. On the network with the Ultra, my Android Roon Remote apps also do not show the Ultra icon. That suggests it’s a server issue, but why my second computer on the other network shows the icon suggests otherwise to me.
OK, I’m back on the network with the WiiM Ultra. See the picture below. The Ultra icon shows on my Android phone but not on my Windows 10 laptop, which also is running Roon Server.
I think last time I was here the Ultra icon didn’t show on my phone, but I’m not 100% certain.
OK, I took a whole bunch of DSP screenshots, did a Roon Backup, quit Roon Server and deleted all files in /Roon/Database/Registry/Core/.
After restarting Roon Server and Roon Remote everything was the same for endpoints and DSP, and I was still signed in to TIDAL and Qobuz. When I checked the Core folder it was repopulated with files with updated time-stamps.
