Zone icons reverted to generic speakers for Wiim Ultra, Cambridge, Linn (ref#SA5KIV)

Hi! What’s not quite right with Roon?

· None of the above quite fits

None of the above quite fits

· App interface looks or behaves oddly

Tell us what's going on

· For the past few weeks all my zone icons reverted to generic speakers. I have Wiim Ultra, Cambridge, Linn etc all used to have bespoke icons but not any more. How do I fix?

Tell us about your home network

· its a home network

This may very well go hand in hand with the disappearance of the logos from Roon’s web presence too. See also:

Roon Labs please look into this matter and fix it.

DEBUNKED

I don’t know, my zone icons are OK.

I think missing zone icons might have been also one of the results of the Roon cloud issues last weekend, but this should be fixed now, too (and I didn’t experience this during the cloud episode so maybe this wasn’t actually a thing). However, I see that @Gareth_Irwin seems to have experienced this already a week before the cloud issues, so I guess it might be unrelated:

Something for official support to look into, I suppose.

I was about to write that I too don’t see any device specific logos, then restarted my Roon Server (process) and now the logos are back. This solution might work for @Gareth_Irwin too, please test this and report your findings.

Yeah I tried that but I will give it another go.,

Yeah tried a restart, no dice.

Hello @Gareth_Irwin

Thank you for reaching Roon support.

Can you try clearing your endpoint cache? You can do so using the following steps:

  • Create a fresh backup
  • Stop Roon (or RoonServer)
  • Find and open your Roon or RoonServer folder
  • Navigate to /Roon/Database/Registry/Core/
  • Delete all the endpoint_ files in this directory.
  • Restart Roon
  • Please let us know if this helps

Note: Deleting these files will

  • Delete your audio device information

If this doesn’t help, please restore the backup you made before trying these steps.

Hi @Gareth_Irwin,

We wanted to check in to see if you were still encountering this issue, and which Zones were still affected at this time if so.

This thread will shortly auto-close, so please reach out if we can provide any further assistance.

An additional step you can take is to reinstall RAATServer itself:

  • Create a Backup of your current Roon database
  • Exit out of Roon
  • Navigate to your Roon’s Database Location
  • Find the folder that says “RAATServer” and delete it
  • Restart Roon to generate a fresh RAATServer. Does the problem reproduce?

You will need to restore the Backup to retain your DSP customizations in MUSE and any Zone device setup changes you’d made.

Yeah I will try tomorrow. Listening to music right now!

Hi @Gareth_Irwin,

Checking back in on this thread, how are things looking for you? We’ll be monitoring for your reply! :folded_hands:
