I have limited experience of hardware but using JRiver as a server i have used a Cambridge Audio CXN v1 snd a Naim Uniti Atom HE with DLNA with no issue

Do they play in sync?

I only have the Naim connected do i dont know

I doubt it would, and there you already have one UPnP limitation even if the implementation in an individual streamer and UPnP server are good.

‘Widely recognized or employed as a model of authority or excellence’. Given that 100’s of ROON Ready partners employ RAAT then it complies with the definition of a Standard. I believe RAAT to be superior to other streaming protocols in every way possible.
