Looks serious. Is there a cure?
I hope they don’t have those flowers on the side we can’t see.
Not musical BUT
Well, it is his toy, after all.
She (Romany) plays with him on the current tour, which I saw at the Albert Hall two weeks ago. Very good too, both on the track she has lead vocals on and also as part of the BV lineup. She’s quite a personality as well. The concert overall was mindblowing, but then DSOTM was my entre into the world of music in 1975 (and I went to the gig with the guy in who’s bedroom we used to listen to PF then). Full circle
I love this story, thanks for sharing! I was quite impressed with the track I heard her on, now I’m off to find footage from the show at Albert Hall.
OK then, to complete the story…
So the guy I was with, Derek Nash, my best mate from school days, is one of Jools Hollands saxophonists. They did Gilmour’s private 70th birthdays bash a few (8!) years back. When Derek tours with Jools he car shares with Louise Marshall, one of Jools’ vocalists. Who is also one of the BVs on the Gilmour tour. She did the last world tour with him as well, indeed the fantastic arrangement of Great Gig In The Sky from Live in Pompeii is hers. And on this tour they do GGITS with her on piano (and singing). Hence me being at the gig on a guest ticket. And hence going to the after party, which all but Gilmour himself attended. The best bit was actually meeting Louise’ dad, who’d got the coach up from their native Manchester that day. Lovely guy.
All in all it was a significant life moment (there’s a bit more I won’t share as it’s personal, just to say emotions were running high).
That much is true
