People would get high and listen to Darkside of the Moon while watching The Wizard of Oz. In this case, the characters from that movie are zoned out listening to Darkside…

I have never heard that people watching Wizard of Oz while listening to the Dark Side of the Moon, while they are high. Seems to be an US thing.

Actually, someone(s) discovered if you start the album at a specific point when started Wizard of OZ, the songs align with the movie scenes. This became a *thing * and likely was most enjoyable with altered brain chemistry…akin to In A Gadda Da Vidi (sp?).

As a drummer, it was one of my favorite albums when I was a kid. “Mom… I HAVE to have this album for the drum solo,” which now seems trite.

In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida was originally “in the Garden of Eden” but it was misheard and the band just went with it. I wish that more bands did the same!!! Jimi Hendrix would have sung “‘Scuse me, while I kiss this guy!” 
My dad and I had great had great philosophical conversations about the Alan Parsons lyrics “Nothings good that uses bad…”. A brilliant lyric for the album (TOAFC). Imagine how disappointed I was to later learn that the lyrics were “Nothings good, the news is bad…”
