B1302 iOS Scrolling choppy / judder issues

In the release notes for this build I see that the scrolling in iOS is supposed to be improved.

I haven’t seen any improvements, the scrolling is still as bad as it was before (inconsistent frame rate, judder, muddy touch response).

Is this something that didn’t make it in or is there some specific area it might be improved ?

My heart skipped beat when I read the release notes.

Having updated, scrolling feels slightly faster but the choppy-ness seems a bit more aggressive now.

Sorry, am not technical at all so can’t word it any better.

I would post a screen recording but turning on screen recording in iOS fixes the scrolling issue :eyes:

Why in gods name does this fix it?! It’s so perfectly smooth :sob:

It’s to do with limiting the frame rate.

Something you can also do from settings.

Funny thing is that reducing the frame rate from settings, does not help. At least it does not on my iPhone 13 Pro.

Others reported it worked for them.

For me, the only trick is to turn screen recording on.

That’s odd because when I’m screen recording, it’s still at 120hz?

Unless it’s something like V-sync (I wasn’t aware that was a thing in apps).

I thought screen recording lowers the frame rate?

At least that’s what I’ve seen others claim on here.

I think it records in 60 fps but everything I see on screen is still 120hz.

Yup. I think that was it.

If you limit frame rate, is it smoother for you?

Setting at the bottom. You’ll have to power cycle phone after enabling.

Yes that works but it’s at 60hz…

I don’t get any of the usual problems but it’s at a low frame rate.

I’ve lost all hope that the remote will ever feel as smooth as other apps running on iOS.

For a premium paid product, this is unacceptable.

Totally agree, as a primarily mobile user it frequently results in me using other apps (Spotify, AM etc).

I don’t have a single app on my phone that suffers from this crippling stutter, including free apps.

My iPhone 12 Pro Max has not setting for frame rate
