Backup option for the music library

I would argue that it rounds out the Nucleus as a fully-fledged music appliance. After all, CD ripping has now been added, whilst multiple 3rd party solutions exist.

This covers pretty much everyone with a NAS that can mount an external drive. It doesn’t seem like a difficult addition.

rSync could pretty much do everything I describe AFAICT.

It’d take work for a frontend, and a bit of thought for sane defaults.

Packaging that into ROCK should be a possibility (even if yes, you can do an rsync backup from a client device onto the smb share), and if there’s licensing issues, there’s a precedent on how to get around those with ffmpeg.

I would argue that a kitchen sink approach is a bad idea. The more crap you add on to the Nucleus the more resources are spent on that crap.

Not only that but just takes away development of other things that users want like mobile etc…plus adds more debugging when things break.
