@spockfish Did You consider add description of “Beta” realise in bottom part of the gui and the last part Software Version? This will allow us to distinguish beta versions from stable versions.

Hi @spockfish, I have identified a minor bug in the latest beta (RoPieee 2024.03.93 (1540)).

It’s not high priority, just raising for visibility. When you group a Ropieee endpoint with another endpoint the screen volume is only controlling the lead endpoint. I can’t easily test earlier versions but I’m 90% sure that previously the volume changes either applied only to the endpoint you were controlling (my preference) or to both endpoints (the way they do if you do it in Roon using the Red circled icons)

What’s happening now is that if I group Bedroom (ropieee) with Lounge, and then change the volume on Bedroom (on the ropieee LCD) it actually changes the volume in the Lounge.

Are there folks here who could test James’ story? Especially whether this changed over versions… at least is was not intentional on my side  But more seriously: recently the whole Roon plugin has been replaced, so it might be related to that…

I just tested with current betas (1359,1350) and mine controls the volume of the zone I change and the master changes both. Even with mixed zones, Pi3 (1359), Pi4 (1350), PC (fixed volume), PC (DSP volume) and no matter which one was “grouped” first. I can’t say what is was like in previous versions, though.

Thanks Bear, so just to confirm you’re on the current beta? (you’ve mentioned current but much earlier version than mine )

Yes, at the time of that post it was with current beta versions (for me anyway, no update was showing on the webUI).

Since then another beta version set was pushed out Pi3 RoPieee 2024.04.1 (1571) and Pi4 RoPieee 2024.04.1 (1572), and I updated and tested again. They both function as stated in my earlier post (i.e. controls zones correctly). So I suppose this qualifies as testing/comparing to earlier versions now??? LOL…

It probably does, but it also means you are experiencing different behaviour to me (you’re getting what I remember but don’t have anymore on the same latest release)
