Oh yes he would
Is this a five minute argument or the full half-hour?
Out of couriosity why Innuos Sense SW with each iteration bring improvement in SQ? Roon is SW too.
It probably doesnât. Or they are fixing problems with their product that Roon doesnât have.
They maybe had a lousy start and it is not going well.
No mention of audio improvements just features, how odd, perhaps itâs in the ear of the listener.
The obselete version of the spelling chimes nicely with the futility of arguing on TâInternet.
Oblig.:
I spent so long trying to stop it autocorrecting âchimesâ I missed the rest
That may be possible if roon were to provide him with the version he felt was superior in order to create the âwave formâ.
I worked with Brian for ten years. The number of mails he received from me saying Brain.
The only waveforms that have changed in this instance are those in the brains of certain Roon users.

Exactly. If people read the existing threads about the same topic instead of opening new ones, they could know all this already. As I mentioned in an older thread, I had a similar experience with my Naim streamer (though I didnât measure it, but upping the volume with Roon a little bit made all differences disappear).
And 2 dB is A LOT in this context. A difference of 0.2 dB cannot be consciously detected as a sound level difference but it does register as a quality difference. Hence why the ears are not good enough and exact measurement is necessary before it makes sense to lose even one word about this.
Exactly, and if roon doesnât quite get it done for you straight up, DSP options are plentiful to get what sounds best to you. The hunt for bit perfect is mindless.
I use roon for discovery and squeeze for critical listening.
Has anyone else heard differences between bit perfect softwares on the same equipment?
Perhaps someone with measuring tools could compare.
When I heard about Gustard I thought about custard.
Thatâs helpful.
Not much of a hunt if you ask me. Not touching the bits is the easiest way to play.
RME did once provide a bit test for their ADI-2 PRO DAC. I played the files 44/96/192 KHz 24 and 32 bit through the whole chain. Files stored on a NAS, Roon Server on virtual machine in the basement, Auralic Streamer or a Mac Endpoint where I had my ADI-2 PRO connected. All bit tests were successful. In this case you could see on the display of the DAC which Test was actually running.
As soon as I applied DSP, headroom management or volume control in roon, the bit test failed.
As far as I know, RME does not provide these files anymore. It is a proven fact, that digital files are not modified during transport, except you modify them by intention with upsampling, DSP, headroom management and so on.
Not all software did pass the test. Roon did always, when the files were sent through without treatment.
