How did that get there?
'cause I was listening to it while thinking of Live 1975 - 85 and enjoying a whiskey or three at the time.

I am not a big live album fan, but there are a couple of my faves.
I will say that Built To Spill’s “Cortez the Killer” is one of the finest sounding LP sides I own. It is reference material!
Some guy told me one time that he didn’t see the point of live albums because studio albums were always better. I told him to go listen to Elizabeth Reed on Idlewild South then listen to it on At Fillmore East and get back to me.
He’s a fool who plays it cool by making his world a little colder. . .
Yes, Van the Man.
Astral Weeks is also one of the best-ever studio albums.
Simply love the version of Ballerina on this recording.
Something about this one that always makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. Perhaps the crowd way up in the mix???.
It’s the first live album I owned (a present from a friend) and I still get that feeling every time I play it.
Built to Spill does a live version of Neil Young’s “Cortez the Killer” that…well…may outdo Neil’s himself!
Two of my favorites have already been listed: Waiting for Columbus (Little Feat) and any of the releases that came out of Bill Evans’ sets at the Village Vanguard in 1961 (Waltz for Debby, Sunday at the Village Vanguard, Complete Village Vanguard Recordings)
But my numero uno hasn’t been suggested yet: The Band - Rock of Ages, also reissued as Live at the Academy in 2013 with two remasterings by Bob Clearmountain and Robertson’s son. I made a version using the original album’s tracklist and the Clearmountian mixes from Academy.
Great band and a really powerful live album that shows that unplugged can rock.
