Let’s Talk about what’s Moving and Grooving you today! [2024-02]

There’s just something magical about this Hot Buttered Soul; I always rate it in my top albums. And I love the gatefold sleeve, although it can’t top the ‘triple’ gatefold Black Jesus. :grinning:

Gang Of Four
Another Day/Another Dollar EP (1982)
It often surprises me how a band as abrasive as Gang of Four can actually be rather melodic.

Another Day Ep

The Fall
This Nation’s Saving Grace (1985)
This is not an album I listen to often. I always preferred their earlier work. However it is a strong album, but was selected for the track ‘I am Damo Suzuki’ RIP
This Nations

Dream Syndicate
The Days of Wine & Roses (1982)
The good thing about this version is the inclusion of the 4track ep that I have on vinyl.
Dream Syndicate

Swell
For All The Beautiful People (1998)
Perhaps Swell’s best album!

For All

A quick transport back to the 50’s? I wouldn’t know, before my time, but what a dreamy voice. Maybe someone will chime in on who she sounds like, I can’t put my finger on it. Just fantastic. Very interesting background. Start with the title track :+1:

Recently released tunes that didn’t make it on My Fav Headache (my understanding), which by the way is a great album (Matt Cameron :+1:)

I do agree. I only have Walk the dog & Light the light in the collection, but like her music a lot…

I know what you mean, in my head ,her voice doesn’t match how she sounds , it sounds more mature than she looks. She has a great voice, def a 50’s vibe to her voice.
Try Julie London

Gondwana records has one of the finest ranges of jazz artists around. Their ethereal approach really is evocative. I have long liked spiritual jazz, Gondwana have introduced many new artists to the genre.
Its Portico Quartet to kick off the days music with their North Sea album
Fans of jazz (and beyond) should check out Gondwana

Well before my time as well, but it wouldn’t feel out of place in an Apple TV show or movie based in the second world war.

It is third time lucky listening to this for me so thanks for posting it. The first two times were just too jarring and I couldn’t get into it at all.
This time it has still taken me half an album to click and enjoy it.
Will try it again soon
