Someone posted this last week I think and listened earlier I’m the office). Was very good thanks to OP
Hey MH, thank you for posting this. I had no idea it existed. I’m in awe. Wow oh wow is this ever good. Unreal.
P.S. Jimmy, Robert, and John Paul have just got to be impressed.
Hey Ace, I see you’re having a big, big Roxy Music kinda day. Talking about going down a rabbit hole. Grace Slick would be impressed I’m sure.
Glad you like it Jim.
She really gives it her all and and it’s very good
And I know for a fact Page, Plant, and Jones were impressed with that because I’ve watched the video of it countless times, and it shows them open-mouthed, teary-eyed, and joining in on the thunderous standing ovation that that song got.
I’ve always liked this record too…I’m pretty sure Owsley Stanley, the original sound guy for the Grateful Dead was the sound engineer for this concert, and thus responsible for the recording of the show - The guy was amazing and recorded everything he did - most of his recordings fall in the ‘pretty stunning’ to ‘stunning’ category.
Just posted another song off this album in the other thread, so my apologies for the double post, but this particular song, and this version of it, deserved its own post.
Yes it’s pretty spectacular for sure.
I think Vanessa Fernandez on her album, When the Levee Breaks, was very wise to NOT cover Stairway to Heaven.
Check that album out…it’s also excellent!
That explains a lot, I was bowled over by just how well the guitars came across, such a huge difference between David and Grahams style and sound and it was very distinctive.
